Pixies – Bossanova – LP

Pixies – Bossanova

Bossanova followed Pixies’ successful Doolittle in 1990, with producer Gil Norton returning after working on that earlier album. It brings the band back toward a folk-rock direction while adding harder rock elements, and “Velouria” remains one of the album’s best-known draws. The Boston band’s original lineup of Black Francis, Joey Santiago, Kim Deal, and David Lovering is a big part of the appeal here, especially for listeners drawn to their mix of alternative rock, punk edge, and surf-rock influence. This is a new vinyl pressing priced at $32, still sealed and in shrink, so it’s a clean choice for someone who wants an unopened copy. The sealed condition means the record has not been opened for inspection, with the shrink wrap intact.
