Phil Lynott – Nineteen – 12″ SINGLE

Phil Lynott’s “Nineteen” stands out as a compelling 12-inch single from 1985, notable for its blend of rock and blues influences. The title track, “Nineteen,” captures Lynott’s distinctive voice and songwriting, while “A Night In The Life Of An Old Blues Singer” showcases a notable collaboration with Gary Moore, whose guitar work adds a sharp blues-rock edge to the Thin Lizzy frontman’s solo work. The single also includes a dub mix of “Nineteen,” providing an intriguing variation on the main track’s theme. Though it made a modest impact on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 76 and holding a spot for four weeks, the release remains a fascinating snapshot of Lynott’s post-Thin Lizzy explorations. This UK import pressing from 1985 is presented on 12-inch vinyl and offers a clean, near-mint condition disc that will suit those looking for an unblemished example of this single. The vinyl’s quality reflects careful handling, making it a fine choice for collectors or fans who appreciate a crisp physical presentation. Given the presence of Gary Moore and the mix of styles here, it’s a record that might find itself comfortably nestled between rock and blues shelves—proving once again that sometimes a little side-step can lead to unexpected grooves.
