Neil Young – Live Rust – 2xLP

Neil Young – Live Rust

Live Rust catches Neil Young and Crazy Horse on the fall 1978 Rust Never Sleeps tour, which gives the album a direct connection to one of Young’s most recognizable live-era statements. The set pulls from several venues, including the Cow Palace near San Francisco, and Young also directed the companion Rust Never Sleeps film under the Bernard Shakey name using Cow Palace footage. Musically, it’s a strong snapshot of his folk-rock and harder Crazy Horse sides living on the same stage, with familiar titles here including “Sugar Mountain,” “After the Gold Rush,” and “My My, Hey Hey.” This is a 1979 vinyl pressing priced at $38, appealing if you want the album in period format rather than a later CD version. The record is graded VG++/NM, with vinyl described as glossy and very clean, showing no visible lines, scuffs, or sleeve marks noted. For a vintage Neil Young live album, that high-grade vinyl condition is the copy’s strongest selling point.
