Christopher Cross’s self-titled album is a cornerstone of smooth, contemplative songwriting, blending acoustic textures with polished production that helped define a certain late ’70s soft rock sound. Tracks like “Ride Like The Wind” and “Sailing” stand out for their melodic grace and introspective lyrics, offering a listening experience that rewards focused attention rather than background noise. It’s the kind of record that invites you to slow down and appreciate the craft of a small ensemble working in harmony, with a warmth that echoes the laid-back California vibe without tipping into cliché. This Europadisk repress brings that classic set to vinyl with a pressing that reflects careful attention to preserving the album’s nuanced arrangements. The record is in VG++ condition, presenting glossy surfaces with only minor, inconspicuous scuffs that won’t distract from the listening experience. For anyone organizing their collection by mood rather than decade, this pressing slots neatly into a shelf where Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins might feel right at home—proof that sometimes the smoothest ride is found in the grooves, not the fast lane.
