Argent’s 1972 album All Together Now stands as a compelling example of British rock’s more contemplative side, blending intricate arrangements with a focused listening approach that rewards attention. The group, featuring members like Russ Ballard and John Verity, brings a mix of acoustic textures and electric energy across tracks like “Hold Your Head Up” and “Keep On Rollin,” balancing thoughtful melodies with moments of drive. The album reflects a period when rock bands were exploring more nuanced soundscapes without losing their edge—a fine line Argent manages to walk here. This 1972 vinyl pressing offers a solid window into that era, presented on a single LP with a condition graded VG+. You can expect some light surface marks typical of a record played but well cared for, without significant disruption to playback. It’s the kind of record that fits comfortably in a collection for those who appreciate detailed songwriting without the fuss, and the pressing year matches the original release, so the sound and presentation remain true to the time. If you’re organizing your shelf by thoughtful rock explorations, this one won’t be shy about taking its place.
