Forward

STREET DATE APRIL 17TH

Following breakout, sold out tours with Algernon Cadwallader and Everyone Asked About You, rave reviews in Pitchfork, Alternative Press, and 2600+ glowing RYM ratings, First Day Back’s self-released DIY masterstroke Forward is finally available at retail.

Heralded as the rightful torchbearers of second wave emo, First Day Back recalls the vocal exasperation of Cap’n Jazz, the twinkle of American Football, and the youthful exuberance of Braid, all while reinventing the sound with the organic additions of violin and harmonica. A love letter to the past, post-dated well into the future.

“Forward enchants on first listen… First Day Back play with a transparency usually reserved for private moments: screaming into a pillow in your bedroom, or putting your hoodie up to stress-cry on the bus.” – 8.0 Pitchfork

“There’s an honesty to Santa Cruz emo outfit First Day Back’s sound that makes it hard to manufacture or duplicate.” – Alternative Press

“Their pure joy is contagious.” — Eloise Wong, Linda Lindas
